Construction procurement specialist SWPA is seeking bids from companies for the supply and installation of communal doors, entrance doors and associated products including fire doors for social landlords and public sector building owners throughout the South West England.

C8 follows the highly successful C7 and CED1 frameworks which now combine into one framework. Interested companies can apply via SWPA’s e-tendering portal Proactis here.

About you

  • You will have experience of public sector construction and compliance, in both the residential and non-residential sectors.
  • You will provide technical support and advice to clients using our frameworks, by attending pre-contract meetings, visiting sites, liaising with clients and appointed companies and advising them on pricing and technical queries. You will also have or gain knowledge of public sector investment and  the companies operating in the South West, so that you can develop new frameworks that meet the needs of South West clients.  
  • No two days will be the same. You will need to be energetic, flexible and agile, responding to requirements from both internal and external stakeholders, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • You will be responsible for organising your own time to achieve the required tasks and will  need to have excellent time management, people and communication skills. You will work closely with other team members, combining respective skills and experience to deliver the best solutions for clients and appointed companies.
  • SWPA is a small team with a growing workload, influence and presence in the South West. We pride ourselves on a collaborative and innovative approach, being at the forefront of current issues- modern methods of construction, social value in procurement and the sustainability and climate change agenda.

New Whole House Refurbishment and Associated Works Framework

South West Procurement Alliance’s Whole House Refurbishment and Associated Works (WH2) framework is for the delivery of either individual measures or for refurbishment of buildings using multiple measures.

Fully OJEU compliant, the WH2 framework provides local authorities, housing associations and other registered providers of social housing with easy access for contractors who can deliver refurbishment works for the following:

  • The whole house refurbishment of tenanted housing properties
  • Tenanted and leasehold residential, low-rise, medium rise and tower blocks
  • Managed leasehold properties
  • Sheltered housing properties
  • Supported housing properties
  • Market rent properties
  • Student accommodation; and other tenures
  • Care homes

The framework is split into two workstreams which can operate independently of one another.

Workstream 1 – Individual Whole House Refurbishment Specialisms with associated works

  • Kitchens & bathrooms with associated repairs
  • Landscaping
  • Electrical works
  • Painting & decorating

Workstream 2 – Multi-disciplinary services

Covering all works listed in Workstream 1 with the following additional options:

  • Heating and electrical
  • Disabled adaptations
  • Supply, renewal of gas fired central heating and upgrading of boilers
  • Electric heating installations
  • Roofing
  • Electrical wiring
  • Cladding
  • Renewal of windows and doors, including fire doors
  • Fire detection, suppression systems, sprinklers

Project Value Bands

Workstream 1 contains the following annual value bands:

  • £250,000 to £2 million
  • £1.5 million to £5 million

Workstream 2 contains the following annual value bands:

  • £250,000 to £2 million
  • £1.5 million to £5 million

About the role

  • This is a key appointment for a rapidly expanding organisation and has the prime responsibility for business development and growth within the South West region, with support and assistance from the regional director
  • We are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, and personable, with experience of sales within the construction/building products sector, in the South West of England
  • You need to be able to manage your workload in an efficient and organised manner, so that all responses to clients and potential clients are delivered in a timely and professional manner
  • This is a one-year contract to cover the maternity leave of the current postholder

  • You will manage the initial stages of our business process – promoting our frameworks and the business benefits of using them to public sector clients
  • Seeking out new clients and understanding their potential and actual requirements

  • Preparing presentations and other collateral to assist your activities
  • Maintain the Customer Relationship Management system by continually updating it with all your contacts and activities and using it as a planning tool to manage your workload CRM system

  • Experience in structured selling in the construction sector
  • Must be a resilient self-starter with demonstrable ability to build and manage relationships and work under pressure
  • A team player but able to work on own initiative
  • Comfortable with IT Systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
