SWPA is looking for a Client Support Manager to join our team for Maternity Cover

About us

The South West Procurement Alliance is seeking to appoint a Client Support Manager to cover the maternity leave of the current post holder for a minimum period of 12 months

  • We rebranded as SWPA in October 2019 and are growing our presence and profile in the South West
  • We have an office in Exeter and take part in the wider debates and initiatives that are important in the region – supporting the local economy and environmental sustainability
  • We are a not for profit organisation and our surplus is recycled into community benefit projects

About the role

  • This is a key appointment for a rapidly expanding organisation and has the prime responsibility for business development and growth within the South West region, with support and assistance from the regional director
  • We are looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic, and personable, with experience of sales within the construction/building products sector, in the South West of England
  • You need to be able to manage your workload in an efficient and organised manner, so that all responses to clients and potential clients are delivered in a timely and professional manner
  • This is a one-year contract to cover the maternity leave of the current postholder

About you

  • You will manage the initial stages of our business process – promoting our frameworks and the business benefits of using them to public sector clients
  • Seeking out new clients and understanding their potential and actual requirements
  • Increasing the reach and stature of the South West Procurement Alliance
  • Seeking out new clients and forming relationships with them
  • Having regular communications and face to face meetings with current and potential clients
  • In conjunction with the Client Research Officer, seek out new opportunities whilst managing the extensive existing client base
  • Developing good working relationships with the appointed contractors and suppliers
  • Promoting our business through a variety of media
  • Preparing presentations and other collateral to assist your activities
  • Maintain the Customer Relationship Management system by continually updating it with all your contacts and activities and using it as a planning tool to manage your workload CRM system

What you need

  • Experience in structured selling in the construction sector
  • Must be a resilient self-starter with demonstrable ability to build and manage relationships and work under pressure
  • A team player but able to work on own initiative
  • Comfortable with IT Systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Energy and enthusiasm

  • Basic Salary scale POB – £36,876 – £40,760
